Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance Now Available for Free on PC

On May 23, 2025, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – Words of Vengeance was released on Steam as a free standalone game. Developed by Auroch Digital and published by Games Workshop, this title introduces an unusual gameplay concept by combining retro first-person shooter aesthetics with typing-based mechanics.

The game does not require ownership of the original Boltgun and functions independently. In Words of Vengeance, players must type words that appear on the screen in order to attack and defeat enemies. The gameplay focuses on typing accuracy and speed, drawing inspiration from the fast-paced rhythm of classic 1990s shooters such as DOOM and Quake, but reimagined through a Warhammer 40,000 lens.

It is available exclusively for Windows PCs via Steam. The game is only available in English and does not include support for other languages. Since its release, it has received generally positive feedback from users, with many noting its creative twist on both the Warhammer universe and typing games.
