Nightdive Studios has unveiled a new trailer for the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, showcasing the game’s brand-new cooperative multiplayer mode. The video highlights the improved graphics and cooperative gameplay available on both PC and consoles.
For the first time in the series, System Shock 2 Remaster will feature a cooperative mode allowing up to four players to explore the spaceship together, fight enemies, and solve puzzles. The mode supports cross-platform play and modern controllers, including PlayStation’s DualSense adaptive triggers.
Originally released in 1999, System Shock 2 is a cult classic blending sci-fi horror, RPG, and first-person shooter elements. Players face off against the rogue AI SHODAN and mutated creatures aboard a space vessel. The game is renowned for its deep story, immersive atmosphere, and innovative gameplay.
The remaster is scheduled for release on June 26, 2025, across PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are available now on Steam with a 10% discount.
