Tormented Souls 2 – Demo Now Available on Steam
06/08/2025

The cult horror sequel Tormented Souls 2 is moving closer to release. Developers have launched a free demo on Steam, giving players a first chance to explore the eerie new setting. Caroline returns as the protagonist, this time on a desperate mission to save her sister Anna from a nightmarish fate deep within an isolated South American monastery.

What’s in the demo?

The demo offers around an hour of gameplay, featuring chilling locations, limited resources, fixed camera angles, and atmospheric puzzles. Fans of classic survival horror will feel right at home, with gameplay heavily inspired by titles like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It's all about tension, smart resource management, and eerie exploration.

About the first game

The original Tormented Souls, released in 2021, quickly earned a following among horror fans. Drawing inspiration from genre-defining classics, it delivered a tense atmosphere, clever environmental puzzles, and a retro presentation. Caroline Walker’s search for missing twin girls in a creepy mansion-turned-hospital took players through a terrifying journey into twisted science and psychological horror.

The game was praised for staying true to the spirit of old-school survival horror and brought renewed interest to the genre.

What to expect in the sequel

Tormented Souls 2 takes Caroline to a monastery filled with religious symbolism, disturbing experiments, and secrets buried in darkness. A major new mechanic lets players switch between alternate realities to solve puzzles and unlock paths. Crafting weapons from scraps and surviving with limited supplies are once again at the heart of the gameplay.

The story continues directly from the first game, diving deeper into Caroline’s past and the mysteries that surround her.

Platforms and release window

The full game is expected to launch in 2025 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No official release date has been announced yet.

The best way to try it

The demo is now available on Steam — a perfect way to get a feel for the game’s tone and mechanics ahead of release. Early player impressions suggest it could be one of the strongest survival horror titles of the year.
