Steam has the park sim Parkasaurus at 90% off, no earlier sale went this far. The window stays open through 21 September.
You put a dinosaur park together: pens from fences and plants, paths, stalls, guests walking the walkways between the enclosures. The dinosaurs themselves are clumsy and funny. They need food, room, and not to have noses pressed against the glass all day. Guest tickets unlock new species, research and digs. There are short scenarios and a sandbox where the park is just something you keep tinkering with. Nobody asks you to count every nail: more time goes into making an enclosure look like it belongs than into tracking feeders. You can put hats on the dinosaurs too.
Steam has about three thousand reviews, and roughly 93% of them are positive. People like the calm park: the dinosaurs are funny, exhibits go together without a pile of menus, the evening goes into building. They complain that by the middle you barely have to watch guests and animals, digging up a new species often means waiting until the crew reaches the pit, and the scenarios feel too easy to some. Anyone who wanted a proper park sim writes that this is more of a sandbox with dinosaurs in hats.
