Steam dropped the tactical shooter Insurgency: Sandstorm by 80%, and that is a first. If you have been watching and never grabbed it, there is still time until 14 September.
Soldiers and insurgents fight over dusty streets. Town, market, desert, and nights on night vision. One or two hits and a body is already down. This is not the shooter where you stand in a burst and keep walking.
Against other people, one side pushes through the blocks while the other holds houses and corners. With friends you can go against the computer: a handful of players clear one district after another, smoke, grenades, someone covering from a roof. Run around a corner alone and you are usually on the floor a second later.
Steam has more than 130,000 reviews, and 85% of them are positive. People praise the guns and the way a round lands: you do not hose the street, one clean shot settles it. Co-op against bots gets a lot of love, a few players moving house to house. They knock matches against people: fewer of them than there used to be, and you often land with veterans who have been here for years. An update broke mods and community servers for some. Recent reviews also say bought add-ons vanish from the game.
