The Japanese RPG Final Fantasy VII Revelation now has a date: April 8, 2027. It closes the remake trilogy of Final Fantasy VII, and the Steam page is already live.
After FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE and FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH the party is finally all there. A meteor hangs over the planet, Weapons walk the ground, Sephiroth is reaching for something close to godhood, and Cloud's lot take the Highwind and fly it themselves instead of poking a pin on a map. From the deck you can parachute into the Mideel jungle, onto Wutai's red roofs, or any other stretch you can see from the air. On the ground Piko the chocobo is waiting: he grows with the group, carries them, and piles into fights. They hook across rooftops, swap the lead on the move, and the cutscene already plays through the eyes of whoever is on screen.
Cid and Vincent fight as their own people this time, not as guests in a cutscene. Cid has the spear and the air, Vincent has a pistol and the transformations. Combat is still that mix of swinging and pausing for commands, only now you put a FITS outfit on someone and they turn into someone else: warrior, knight, black mage or summoner, and they look different too. Some jobs go to a particular person, and both the talk and the way the scene lands shift with that. Even Queen's Blood is back as its own story about Nanaki, where the other players break the rules the deck usually runs on.
After launch there will be two story expansions. One follows Sephiroth, the other Vincent and the Turks. The window runs from winter 2027 into spring 2028. The trilogy's main story is meant to finish in the game itself. These chapters sit to the side, not as a leftover ending.
