Atomic Heart is 80% off

The action game Atomic Heart is 80% off on Steam. You still have until 14 September if you watched it and never bought it.

About the game

It opens like a Soviet paradise off a poster: robots smiling, pavilions gleaming, the radio singing about a bright tomorrow. Then the control system snaps, and those same machines, ballerinas and the twins in red start cutting people down. Major Nechaev trudges through Facility 3826 with a polymer glove that never shuts up. It hints, it needles him, it gets in his head. One minute he is in an exhibition hall, the next in a lab, then in a theatre where the orchestra's classics suddenly become fight music.

Combat is a mix: you shoot, you cut, you grab and throw with the glove. Ammo runs short and enemies last a long time, so standing behind a crate and picking them off does not work. You have to keep moving and swap weapons on the fly. The look is bold and crude at once, and that keeps the world from feeling like another grey bunker.

Reviews

Steam already has more than fifty thousand reviews, and about 81% of them are thumbs up. People still cling to this world: how it looks, how it sounds, how the glove talks, and how the fights sometimes turn into a real show. Some finish and come back just to wander the halls.

What they hate is how the game comes on screen. Shaders compile for ages, changing a setting means launching everything again, and it can crash. The story comes apart in the middle, a lot of people dislike the characters, the fights start repeating, and the open stretches of the complex turn into walking from point to point.
