Stellar Blade has finally launched on PC. Previously a PlayStation 5 exclusive that debuted back in 2024, the game had already built a strong reputation among action fans. Now it’s time for PC players to get their hands on it — and they’ve jumped in with surprising enthusiasm (and maybe a little too much appreciation for the camera angles).
Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive: 96% of them recommend the game. Community discussions are buzzing, and the player base keeps growing. Visuals, performance, and the iconic main character are all getting plenty of love.
We went through over 1,000 of the most upvoted Steam reviews to break down what players enjoy most — and where the game gets some side-eye.
What players love
- The main character
Eve gets a lot of attention — and not just for her outfits. Players describe her as charismatic and memorable. Some jokingly admit they bought the game “just for Eve,” but end up staying for much more.
- Solid gameplay and overall experience
Many reviews call Stellar Blade a “pleasant surprise.” People didn’t expect much — and ended up loving it. The game just feels good to play: it’s polished, smooth, and doesn’t get in its own way.
- Graphics and performance
The PC version runs beautifully: stable FPS, fast load times, and barely any bugs. It’s a top-tier port from PS5, and players are clearly impressed with the technical quality.
- Combat system
Fast-paced fights, flashy finishers, satisfying parries and dodges — it’s all here. Players compare it to Bayonetta and Sekiro, but say it still has its own identity.
- Sound and voice work
Many appreciate the soundtrack and voice acting. Together with the visuals, they create an immersive and cohesive atmosphere.
- Familiar but welcome influences
References to games like NieR: Automata, Dark Souls, and Bayonetta come up often — usually as a compliment.
Criticism
- Oversexualization
Some feel the camera focuses a little too much on Eve’s body. There are jokes about “booty physics” and “horny camera angles.” While many find it funny or harmless, others feel it’s overdone.
- Weak story
The plot rarely comes up as a strength. Players wanting deep storytelling may be disappointed. The writing is often described as predictable or generic.
- Repetitive mechanics
Even though combat is praised, some say it starts feeling repetitive halfway through. A few wished for more variety or challenge in the later sections.
- Too many borrowed ideas
A handful of reviews criticize the game for leaning too hard on ideas from other titles, calling it “a NieR fanfic” or “Bayonetta-lite.”
Overall impression
Stellar Blade pulled off something rare — it didn’t just meet expectations, it exceeded them. Players consistently praise the game for being a complete, polished experience without modern annoyances like battle passes, loot boxes, or forced online features.
More importantly, it’s fun. The game delivers a slick, stylish action adventure that’s enjoyable from start to finish. Even the criticism tends to feel more like friendly teasing than serious frustration. For most PC players, Stellar Blade is exactly what they were hoping for — and maybe even a little more.
